I know that it is still being organized for this year, but here is what we did last year:

Friday - Kick-off and dinner at Richmond YC
Saturday - Start
Sunday afternoon - BBQ at Antioch Marina
Monday - Fun at Boyd's Harbor and Dinner
Friday Evening - BBQ hosted by Stockton YC

and a whole bunch of fun in between. You can participate in all the planned get togethers or as few as you want, but we enjoyed all of them and it was great to meet folks and hang out. Between the Monday and Friday event, we found a nice spot for R&R&R and we just stayed there until picking up the anchor and heading for Stockton.

One note, last year we needed to head home on the Saturday after the final event at the Stockton YC. It was a real bash back and we ended up putting into Vallejo for the night. We left Stockton at 6AM and pulled into Vallejo at 4:30PM. That worked out great for us because we took Saturday afternoon to get the boat cleaned up, dinghy rolled up, and our things packed. Then on Sunday we had a very pleasant sail back home. If you are in the same position this year, I suggest you reserve a slip at Vallejo/Bencia/Pittsburg/Antioch for that Saturday night.

We're currently making hosting arrangements with locales on our route, and will post the official itinerary at http://www.deltadoodah.com/itinerary.html when we've confirmed with our hosts. We can tell you for sure that we will once again wind up at Stockton Sailing Club on the San Joaquin River, on the afternoon and night of Friday, August 6. From there, our fleet will have the whole weekend to work their way back home.

We will kick off our journey with a party on Friday evening, July 30, at a marina/club not too far from the Richmond-San Rafael bridge. The fleet's boats will be welcome to stay overnight. This location should be confirmed and announced very soon.

Christine,

Will you be providing logistics (location, contact numbers, and so on) for the Friday kick-off berthing? How early on Friday can we get over there and get a slip? Thanks

Hi Gary and Nancy,

I'll be getting in touch with Steve at Marina Bay Yacht Harbor soon to see how he wants to handle that. He can choose to take RSVPs himself, or have me collect them, or I can just give him a list of the boats and their dimensions. I'll ask him which he prefers.

I'd like to be able to give all the harbormasters a list of all the boats with all their pertinent dimensions (beam and draft as well as length), but I am waiting for all the Questionnaires to come back to me. I do have all of 'iliohale's paperwork, so thanks for that.

Next year we'll probably collect more of that kind of information (Questionnaire page 1) when boats first register.

We will also provide harbormaster contact info for each stop to all of the fleet. I am also working on a list of possible marinas for the first Saturday night stop.

Y'all should take a look at the Delta Doo Dah Deux itinerary. I've updated it with cute little maps of all our official stops. Please see http://www.deltadoodah.com/itinerary.html

I've also created events for us on BlooSee. Go to http://www.bloosee.com and type Delta Doo Dah into the Search box. The results will show all our 'Infopoints'.
