Crew needed
« on: Tue, April 27, 2010, 10:54:30 »
Hi there.

I'm a newbie to the Doo-Dah, but not to the Delta.  Problem is, my fiancee will be working and she also had a terrible time the first time I went to the Delta  (Got heat stroke, left Herman and Helen's in an ambulance...)  which means I've made the trip alone the last couple of years.  It's not fun (especially returning), and I'd like to have company.

I have talked to a friend about going, but I'm also going to put it out there for you guys: anyone want to join me?  I have the Newport 30 'No Agenda'  The boat lives in Sausalito, but any leg of the trip is do-able.

I know it's early to put this out there, but why not start now?!

Hi Brian,

Be sure to check out our Crew List; you may find the right person there. See http://www.latitude38.com/crewlist/Crew.html

OK, I just posted ads on the crew list, as rec'd by Christine.  Any leg of the trip is fine, but especially on the return trip from Pittsburg to Benicia!

Doesn't someone have an extra person on board they can spare for a while?! (but please, not the six-year-old that says, 'are we there yet...are we there yet...are we there yet..'!)   I have wine and rum on board.....

Well, here's the deal, in case anyone's watching!

A friend of mine, Bud, who's been sailing since the days of the French Revolution, will be going with me up as far as Pittsburg.  (We think...)  From there, I'm on my own.  For some reason, it seems he doesn't want to sail back.  (He knows about the slog back from his days as a young man when he made the trip with lots of beer on board...and nothing else, from what I understand!)  However, he had agreed to buy me dinner at Benicia as compensation!

I have talked to Richard, but we have not hooked up as yet.

I have talked to another who has done the Doo Dah, and he is confident that I might find someone along the way who's willing/wanting to do some travel along the way.  I guess when you're on a boat called No Agenda, 'going with the flow' is to be expected!

'No Agenda' is the perfect name for a boat cruising the Delta.
