2010 Itinerary

The details in our itinerary are shaping up:

Friday, July 30, 6:00-9:00 p.m.: Kickoff Party & Potluck at Tradewinds Sailing School & Club in Richmond's Marina Bay Yacht Harbor.
6:00 p.m.: Check in with the Doodettes and collect your burgee, T-shirt(s), and other swag.
6:30 p.m.: Potluck Dinner. Bring some food and beverages to share with your new friends. We'll supply the cups, plates, napkins, utensils.
7:30 p.m.: Skippers Meeting. Not required, but highly recommended. (As an incentive to attend, we may give away a few prizes at the meeting.) We're dreaming up a kids' activity so they won't be too bored while the adults are talking.
Free berthing by reservation at Marina Bay Yacht Harbor for registered boats the night of July 30.

Saturday, July 31, 11:00 a.m.: Official Start at the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge. Silent Sun will be stationed north of the bridge to take your picture.
You're on your own Saturday night. Find a slip at one of the many marinas along the way, use your reciprocal privileges if you're a yacht club member, or be adventurous and anchor out. We've posted some suggestions on the forum.

Sunday, August 1, 5:00-8:00 p.m.: Welcome to the Delta Party. Pittsburg Marina will host the fleet with free berthing Sunday night. The Marina and Delta Discovery Cruises will join forces to throw us a 'Blues, Brews and Barbecue' dock party Sunday evening aboard the air-conditioned Island Serenade and on the adjacent dock. Dad's BBQ of Pittsburg will feed us dinner for $10/adults, $8/kids. A full bar will be open aboard Island Serenade with wine and beer specials, and the Mike Osborn Band will play for us on their deck. When the band takes a break, we'll give away some prizes.

Monday, August 2: Boyd's Harbor on Bethel Island will once again welcome the fleet. Our friend Peter Yates has arranged for a beach party in the afternoon with water taxis, Waverunners, and a Hobie Cat. The Rusty Porthole bar and restaurant will open for lunch and drinks at 11:00. They'll be open for dinner with their regular dinner menu, plus a tri-tip barbecue special for $10 and hamburgers and hot dogs off the grill. For more details, please see our forum.

Tuesday-Thursday, August 3-5: Free days. Explore the Delta on your own, buddy-boat with friends, or tag along with the Doodettes.

Friday, August 6: Doo Dah Hoopla. Celebrate your arrival at the ultimate destination, Stockton Sailing Club.
4:00 p.m.: if there's enough interest, we'll run dinghy races in the club's El Toros, prams and FJs. Or, you can just borrow a dinghy and take it for a spin.
6:30 p.m.: A barbecue dinner will be available to purchase, and there'll be music and prize give-aways.

Saturday, August 7: Breakfast and departure. Stockton Sailing Club will whip up made-to-order omelettes for the fleet to send us on our way home well fed.
